We set our pressure-treated 4x4 or 6x6 posts well below the frost line into a heavy concrete footer. In Florida, wood swells with humidity and shrinks in the sun. This constant movement pushes smooth nails out of the wood over time—a failure known as 'nail pop'—leading to loose pickets and rattling boards. We use exclusively exterior-grade, hot-dipped galvanized screws (or ring-shank fasteners for specific applications). These bite into the lumber and hold tight through years of expansion and contraction cycles, ensuring your fence stays tight and rattle-free.03
